RECONCILIATION

A major mark of Jesus' ministry was forgiveness and he commanded that his disciples forgive sin (John 20:23). The Church has continued this essential act in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Following the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) the Church changed the sacrament's name from Confession or Penance to Reconciliation and allowed several options for the reception of this sacrament. Saint Lawrence-Saint Cyril Church provides for these forms.
  • Communal Reconciliation Services—are offered during Advent and Lent in preparation for Christmas and Easter. During these services we gather as a community to express our sorrow for sin and ask forgiveness, we then individually confess our sin to a priest.
  • Individual Reconciliation—is available on Saturday's (except Holy Saturday) from 4:00-4:30 p.m. Penitents have the option of confessing anonymously behind a screen or speaking to the priest face-to-face.
  • Individual Reconciliation by appointment—if regular hours are inconvenient or you feel you need more time; you are always welcome to schedule this sacrament with a priest.
